Winter is here!

This morning I was late to work - I’m still not used to the time it takes to scrape the ice off my car, and the morning frost is so beautiful here on Luing that I stopped at least twice to get out and take pictures. No matter how hard I cling onto Autumn, Winter is making itself known.

You know what that means - time to start thinking about Christmas. Perhaps some of you have finished your shopping already, but many of you will surely be last-minute shoppers like me. That’s where we come in.

Ah, the gift card. The perfect solution for a discerning (picky) loved one, or a shining solution to those of us without the blessing of foresight. You’ve probably guessed it - WildLuing has now launched our gift card range! Click here to find out more

The best part? Your recipient chooses the date themselves and the gift card is totally digital, meaning it arrives instantly - perfect for the last minute. With values the equivalent of a half, one, or two-night stay, you can treat someone to a short break in Scottish paradise. And if that doesn’t seem long enough, you can even ask us to make you a custom listing for values over £400.

Check out our range, plus Ts&Cs, on our website below.

Going Green

In other news, we have recently ordered several nest boxes to help our birds next spring. There are hundreds of species of bird on Luing, and it’s swallow season at the moment - there’s even a nest in the ferry shed! Fledglings of all kinds abound at the moment, including our pheasants and sparrows, who are a little slow getting off the road at times with their brand new wings.

Les Artistes Petits

The Delvauxs clearly made the best of their stay - as simple as it sounds, a good walk is the best way to appreciate our island, which has many different sides to it. Anyone familiar with Scotland knows that it’s best to plan for wet weather, and to enjoy every minute of sunshine when it comes, but it sounds like the Delvauxs had a great time in the rain and know exactly how to enjoy Scotland to its fullest.
