Autumn rolls in on the west coast of Scotland…
Our luxury self-catering accommodation on the beautiful Isle of Luing, near Oban in Argyll, has enjoyed one of our busiest seasons yet. We have been delighted to welcome so many first-time visitors, returning guests, family gatherings, friendship groups and retreat bookings to our little corner of Scotland. As we move into Autumn, we wanted to share some updates from the last few months.
Luing Cattle Society Open Day | Friday 21st August 2026
One of the biggest dates in our family calendar and was a great, busy day, and it was lovely to see so many familiar and new faces.
On Friday 21st August, our family farm hosted the Luing Cattle Society Open Day; a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the iconic Luing cattle breed where it all began. We had guided tours of the farm and island, refreshments, displays about the Luing breed and plenty of celebrations!
Thanks go to Jo, Bob, Chris, Ellie and the team for their hard work and support in the lead up to, during and after the day. Here are a few photographs of the day to share with you.

A WildLuing farewell to Kitty and Stevie
At the end of August we said a farewell to Kitty (Site Manager) and Stevie (Handyman and Groundsman). They have been an integral part of WildLuing and our team since arriving in November 2023 with Kitty leading the management of the Suites and site and Stevie supporting and leading several projects across the business. They are on to pastures new at a new estate for a new challenge. Thank you to Kitty and Stevie for all their hard work. We wish you well on your next adventure and we will always have a presence of Stevie onsite with ‘Stevie’s Sauna’ which he built from scratch!
A warm WildLuing welcome to Charlotte and Martin
With the departure of Kitty and Stevie we welcome two new members to the WildLuing team, Charlotte and Martin. Charlotte will begin as Site Manager and Martin will be Handyman and Groundsman. Combined they bring with them a wealth of experience and passion to the island, most recently having worked in the Isles of Scilly in the hospitality sector. Please give them a warm Luing welcome to the island and if you see them around do say hello!
Avery’s Hebridean Retreat | September 2026
This September we hosted award-winning chef Rodney Wages for Avery’s Hebridean Retreat. This exclusive four-day immersive experience combined exceptional dining with the wild beauty of Scotland’s Inner Hebrides. We cannot wait to share more about how it went soon!

Our 2027 diary is now open and bookings are already coming in fast.
Alongside individual stays, we are welcoming exclusive site hires for family celebrations, wellness retreats, milestone birthdays and unforgettable gatherings with friends.
