The Observatory, our custom-designed communal building and event space, is nestled in the centre of our site, boasting panoramic views over Torsa Bay. Open-plan with a fully-equipped kitchen and pantry, two adjoining ensuite toilets, spacious dining area, and cosy living space, The Observatory is a home from home. Gather here with friends, family, or colleagues to share meals, curl up on the sofas, or sit out on the deck to watch our resident otters in the bay below. Come rain or shine, the Observatory’s window seats are perhaps the best place on Luing to while away the hours with a book.

FAQs
Is the Observatory suitable for work events and retreats?
The Observatory is an incredibly versatile space, and can be hired for a variety of events including team building weekends, yoga retreats, cooking school, dining events, wild swimming groups, and wedding receptions. Much of our furniture is mobile, to allow a personalised arrangement of the space to suit the event.
I’ve booked a WildSuite, can I use the Observatory?
The rental of individual WildSuites does not grant automatic use of the Observatory without a separate hire cost. For individual use of the Observatory, an enquiry should be made about availability and pricing prior to arrival. Should a group require exclusive use of the entire WildLuing site, including all eight WildSuites, the Observatory will come included.
Can I book the Observatory without staying at WildLuing?
Yes! However, please be aware that if you are staying off-island your usage may be restricted by the Cuan Ferry timetable.
Are there bedrooms in the Observatory?
There are no bedrooms adjoining the Observatory. It is intended for daytime and evening use only.
Do you provide catering?
Should you require catering during your stay, we are more than happy to arrange a private chef upon request. However, the Observatory kitchen is much like your one at home; easy to use and equipped with everything you need, from champagne flutes to a 6-ring gas Rangemaster.
How much is it?
Quotes for use of the Observatory are available upon request. Pricing is dependent upon a number of factors including season, party size, and demand. Please get in touch for more information.
